Dr. Bob Grisel began his equine veterinary training at the age of thirteen, when he worked for a racetrack veterinarian in southern Florida. Bob quickly developed an interest in solving the many problems that affect performance horses. He dedicated the next 20 years of his life to learning as much as he could about sport horse medicine and surgery.

Bob graduated from the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine prior to moving to southern California where he received extensive training in equine surgery and radiology. Upon completing a residency in equine surgery, Bob and his family moved to Corvallis, Oregon where Bob spent time on the teaching staff at Oregon State’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

Looking forward to returning to the east coast, the Grisels moved to Braselton, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. There they built The Atlanta Equine Clinic, a state-of-the-art full service equine diagnostic, surgical and emergency care facility. Bob performs surgery and lameness evaluations (including diagnostic imaging) for the clinic, which serves a diverse clientele. Approximately 20% of Bob’s time is spent out-of-town performing lameness evaluations and/or surgery.
