BreatheWise cellulose gel was developed by Kentucky Performance Products, LLC for horses with upper respiratory allergy and/or allergic sinusitis.
The mode of action is quite straightforward: the gel creates a physical barrier between hypersensitive tissue (mucous membrane) and imposing allergens, thereby significantly reducing direct exposure.
An in vitro study of diffusion time of dust allergens through control agar gel versus BreatheWise gel (conducted by the National Pollen and Aerobiology Research Unit at the University of Worchester in Great Britain) suggested that BreatheWise cellulose gel significantly slowed the diffusion of dust mite allergens.
DIFFUSION RATE after 15 minutes:
1.9% in BreatheWise gel versus 69% in control agar gel
DIFFUSION RATE after 5 hours:
44% in BreatheWise gel versus 100% in control agar gel
